Ergonomics is a rather important factor that has to be considered when purchasing office furniture - particularly the computer chairs and tables. It helps in maximizing the efficiency and quality of the employee’s work. When this factor is neglected, there is a greater risk that your employees will suffer from repetitive strain injury (RSI) and other injuries caused by muscle strain. The use of an adjustable keyboard tray, ergonomic keyboard and ergonomic chairs will be beneficial for both the company and their employees.
RSI or what is also known as cumulative trauma disorder (CTD), occupational overuse syndrome, or work related upper limb disorder (WRULD) is a condition that results from the overuse of a tool such as a computer, that requires movements. It affects the tendons, muscles and nerves in the hands, arms and upper back. This condition can be prevented with ergonomics, good posture and by limiting your time in stressful working conditions.
If your employees do not experience these kinds of conditions, then you also have a greater chance of achieving your production goals. Investing on ergonomics is really worth it.
