I just gave my dad an Xbox 360 as my father’s day present. I was thinking of what to give him for the past weeks. While thinking, I got a flash back of what we enjoy doing when I was younger and one of these is playing computer games. Back then we are only using a family computer, but we enjoy it a lot. After reminiscing I decided to buy the Xbox 360 for him. After opening the gift, we started playing and had a good time again just like what we had before. This time with a great console and my dad loves the wireless controller.

My mother does not really like my idea of buying the console as a gift for dad; she said that he is too old for that. But while playing, you can’t tell who is younger or older in our group.

I recently visited my grandparent’s home and had a really good time. I haven’t visited them for several months and I missed them a lot. All I did during my stay was eating, chat with them and had my thinking time. My grandparents place always provides an ambiance for me to be able to reflect and my favorite spot is in the garden. Their garden is very lovely, thanks to my grandmothers hard work and green thumb.

I love the greens and the flowers and have been dreaming of having a lovely garden. I use to dream of becoming a scientist. I find it really cool to discover new things like our famous inventors - Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Galileo, Leonardo da Vinci, and a lot more. I use to have so much thirst for knowledge that I began reading science books. I read about how the earth was formed. I read about the dinosaurs. I read about the originally nine planets which has now become 11, including Ceres and Eris. I also read about the different laboratory equipment - the peltier cooler, test tubes, microscopes, and a lot more. I watched science fiction movies, believed in Star Trek, Star Wars and ET.

As a child, exploring things and learning new things can be fun. I really enjoyed playing with science. I love it when I felt that I get to discover an answer to my playmates or classmates questions. I feel so smart and it makes me proud. I may not remember all the things I learned before, but I know that the mind should be fed even when you are an adult. Reading, watching and doing new things helps the mind grow - not in terms of mass or size but in terms of knowledge and content.

I just bought a new desktop, one with a higher memory and specs than my laptop. Of course, it does not mean that I will leave my laptop behind and begin working on my laptop. I only intend to use it for my rather heavier graphic works and file storage. It is easier to work on graphics when you have a bigger monitor and perhaps, more “breathing space”. Yet, working in front of the desktop for long hours can be tiring so I needed to buy a keyboard drawer with an ergonomically designed computer table. I also bought a great computer chair…. I love the chair, if I must say. It is the type that makes you feel successful and comfortable when you sit on it.

Well, I guess I can also use my desktop for entertainment. Just pimp it up with really nice speakers, it can match the resolution of an LCD Television - serves as my home entertainment system right in my workspace. What can be more rewarding than watching a good movie after a long days work and eating some popcorns or your favorite ice cream (just don’t let the ice cream drip on your keyboard).

I have always dreamed of having my own place. A house that I can call mine. My own little space that I worked hard and saved for. Since paying for real estate in cash seem to be light years away, I think it will be easier for me to get a mortgage. These mortgages will allow me to purchase a house and lot or just a lot on installment at a low interest rate. In this way, I am forced to save up for my space. I am forced to set aside a certain amount of money so I can pay for my mortgage. Most mortgage deals often last for at least 10 years and with interest rates of around 5% and up.

Yet, before I get into any mortgage plan, there are certain things that I have to consider. Making a decision can be easy but when you think about the things you need to consider, that makes it more complicated. Since mortgages normally last for 10 years, I have to make sure that I will not be out of job until I paid everything. If I ever lose my job, then it should not take that long for me to find another job or I should at least have enough savings to help sustain myself and pay for my mortgages for a certain period of time.

For now, I just have to be frugal with my expenses and save as much as I can. Then, soon, my dream house will be at hand.
